PMflex: PPM CIPS has developed the new project management standard for public administration together with the BVA
The motto and objective was "Ingenious and Simple" when the Federal Office of Administration (BVA) approached Ingo König's PPM-CIPS team in the summer of 2022 with a consulting request to develop a uniform project management standard for public administration. To date, the project management services offered by the CC GroßPM in the BVA were mainly based on the S-O-S method for large-scale projects. However, its application presupposes a certain prior knowledge of the basics of project management, which the majority of people who work in federal administration projects, lead them or are responsible for their results do not have. Furthermore, the focus of the S-O-S method was on large projects, not on medium-sized or smaller projects.
In the intensive work phase between September 2022 and June 2023, PMflex - the holistic project management system - was developed by the federal administration for the federal administration. This project management system is composed of four guidelines, the so-called PMflex standard, as well as other complementary building blocks for dissemination and knowledge transfer (e.g. networks, PM knowledge pool and teaching programmes).
