Want to improve your deal execution? Learn more about how our alliance with Harvey AI can power that for you
In brief
PwC Deals extended its strategic alliance with Harvey AI for its exclusive partnership in Deals and the co-development of AI workflows on a joint M&A platform. GenAI technology in Deals i) reduces time-to-insight in the due diligence process, ii) enhances accuracy of analyses/deal comfort, and iii) unlocks more actionable insights from vast volumes of unstructured documents. The combination of Harvey’s proprietary LLM and PwC’s deal domain knowledge empowers private equity investors to gain a competitive edge in the M&A process and unlock new value creation opportunities along the entire investment lifecycle.
Summary of key aspects
The co-development of workflows based on Harvey’s fine-tuned LLM and PwC’s market leading deals knowledge allows us to provide a suite of AI-powered workflows, with accuracy and depth reaching beyond those of generalistic AI models. This includes:
AI-Powered diligence workflows:
- Rapidly synthesize information across confidential information memoranda (CIMs), expert call transcripts, financial reports, and legal contracts.
- Automate extraction of key financial, operational, and legal risks, surfacing critical deal insights in a single platform.
- Streamline review of deal documents, flagging red flags and deviations from standard terms, and providing actionable next steps.
Harvey “Vault” for VDR reviews:
- Upload up to 10,000 documents per project, enabling fast extraction and synthesis of insights from data rooms.
- Share projects securely among team members, to share prompt results and actively collaborate on key diligence tasks in real time.
Compliance & security:
- Enterprise-grade encryption and compliance standards safeguard confidential investment data throughout the deal lifecycle.
- Deals and client confidentiality is maintained at all times, project information is not shared with other LLM users.
Implications:
Private equity investors are well advised to integrate GenAI technology into their investment process, leading to several advantages:
- Reduced time-to-insight: Right from the start, gain broader and deeper insights into target companies and industries, and reduce manual review time to spend more time on detailed analyses and strategic decision making.
- More comfort on deal hypothesis: Leverage AI-driven insights to identify and address financial, operational, and legal risks early, to include more valuation-relevant items and improve deal outcomes.
- Gain a competitive edge: Adopt domain specific AI workflows to get a head start in the M&A process and move ahead of competitors in deal sourcing, execution, and value creation.
